BURNABY, B.C. – The Minister of Community, Sport and Cultural Development, The Honourable Bill Bennett, will be in attendance at the annual Subway All-Star Awards Banquet as a special guest of Football BC at the Italian Cultural Centre in Vancouver on Tuesday, November 27, 2012.
“I am honoured to attend this awards banquet and to be in the company of some of British Columbia’s most talented young football players,” said Bennett. “These exceptional athletes are the young men we can expect to see in future playing pro-football. We’re proud to support these athletes through Football BC.”
The 2012 Subway All-Star Awards Banquet honours elite high school student athletes and recognizes provincial academic scholarship winners, first-team AAA and AA All-Stars, and all teams participating in the AAA and AA championship finals which will be held on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at BC Place Stadium in Vancouver.
The Honourable Bill Bennett was appointed the Minister of Community, Sport and Development on September 5, 2012. He has previously served as Minister of Energy, mines & Petroleum Resources, Minister of Community and Rural Development, Minister of Tourism, Culture and the Arts, and Minister of State for Mining.
“We are honoured to have Minister Bennett join us for this special evening recognizing the top players in all of BC High School Football,” said Football BC Executive Director, Patrick Waslen. “We are looking forward to a great event on Tuesday night followed by a thrilling day of championship games on Saturday at BC Place.”
The Subway All-Star Awards Banquet will begin at 7 pm PT and will be emceed by Team Radio personalities Bob “The Moj” Marjanovich and Giulio Caravatta.
