Football BC Provincial Programs - 2016 Outlook

Posted on 2016-02-02 19:24:43

With the Combine season now in full swing, here's some of the things that participants can look forward to as they move along the provincial program path in 2016.

Remember, each calendar year Team BC "resets" and starts brand new so players must attend a Combine to be considered again even if you were on a team the previous season.

Football BC Combine Benefits

1. Experience - It is an event, "game day," putting your skills and talents on the line as a measure of performance only makes you better each and every time you go through the process

2. Competition - measure yourself against other great players and, more importantly, against yourself from past results

3. Experienced Coaches and Evaluators - the use of laser timers and trained coaches lends itself to reliable scores that are made available to coaches and recruiters

4. Future Opportunities - great performances are rewarded with invitations to future provincial camps and further opportunities to get better

Senior Bowl

Our annual camp for grade 12 graduating players from High School Football or Community Football. Hosted at the BC Lions players, this special camp features top coaches from University, Junior, High School and Community. Held during Spring Break week in March. This year's dates are March 15-19, 2016.

U18 Team BC/Senior Varsity

For top senior players in the province entering Grade 11 or Grade 12 in the fall of 2016. This team will travel to play the best competition maximizing player exposure and the football experience. Training camp for this group takes place over the May Long Weekend.

U16 Team BC

Our top U16 players have participated across Canada and the U.S. Tournaments introduce players to elite competition and serves as an introduction to the recruiting process. Training camp for this group takes place over the May Long Weekend.

U14 (includes Grade 8, Grade 7, and Grade 6)

In 2016, we have plans to host a tournament in the summer in conjunction with the Legacy Games in Kamloops! Age/grade categories have not yet been determined, but will include an opportunity for all in this age category. Emphasis at this age group is on the development of the football athlete. The competition is a secondary factor.

Notes:

We are committed to providing these opportunities as we develop players and coaches. Tournaments and competitions are subject to change based on hosting groups and organizations (changing locations, competition levels, or altogether cancelling events). In such cases, we will remain committed to finding the best opportunities for our players.

"Be evaluated by the best. Perform your best. Play with the best."
