Team BC has announced its latest round of cuts following the Victoria Day Long Week camp. The roster has now been trimmed to 52 players which breaks down to nine defensive backs, eight defensive linemen, seven linebackers, eight offensive linemen, five quarterbacks, six running backs and nine receivers.
Team BC head coach, Tom Kudaba, has released the following statement with respect to the roster trim announcement:
"All of us with Team BC are extremely excited with the group we have selected to continue on with Team BC.
"In addition to all of the players list the Team BC staff also has a shortlist of players who have been evaluated but for conflicts, including illness and injury, were not able to participate in our May camp. These players, as with all players, will be monitored through their respective seasons to see if they should be considered for our final team.
"Unfortunately, we will have to cut down further to a roster of 34 and the best players will be chosen to compete wearing the Team BC jersey in San Antonio, Texas."
Players who are on the list will receive further communication shortly on what the next step of the process is, which will include a camp later in the year where the team will be further trimmed down to its final playing roster.
Team BC will be competing in early January 2013 in San Antonio, Texas facing fellow under-18 All-Star teams from the U.S. and internationally as part of the All-American Bowl Week.
