FOOTBALL BC TO PARTNER WITH HEAL4LIFE IN NOVEMBER IN SUPPORT OF THE BLUE RIBBON CAMPAIGN
…The campaign raises awareness for men’s health and early cancer detection and will support local cancer research.
BURNABY, BC – Football BC will go BLUE in the month of November and partner with HEAL4Life to raise awareness around men’s health and early cancer detection.
Throughout the month, Football BC will feature the logo of HEAL4Life on the website at www.playfootball.bc.ca and encourage its member associations to contribute to the cause in one of two ways:
1. Donate Online – All funds raised will go toward HEAL4Life and local cancer research
2. Helmet Stickers – Football BC member teams can request free awareness helmet stickers for their teams
To donate or to order free helmet stickers, teams can go to a specially set-up website at www.footballbcgoesblue.com.
“We are very pleased to be partnering with HEAL4Life in November to bring awareness for this cause that often is overlooked,” said Football BC Executive Director Patrick Waslen. “Football players are used to playing through the pain but we want to emphasize the importance of regular check-ups as part of living a healthy and active lifestyle.”
Football BC members are encouraged to use the hashtag #thebluejersey on social media.
The campaign officially runs from November 1 to 30, 2015.
This non-profit organization was founded by brothers Kyle and Drew Williams shortly after Kyle’s successful battle with testicular cancer. The brothers chose to create an organization which educated young men on the importance of healthy choices, personal fitness, and self-awareness. The organization raises awareness of men’s health and early cancer detection through social media campaigns and helmet stickers.
