Dear Team BC prospects;
I hope all of you are having strong starts to your respective seasons.
I apologize in advance for our lack of communication in recent months. Our office has been waiting to confirm details on Team BC tournaments for the winter season but unfortunately we have hit a few snags.
Our original intent was to have all three of our teams - Grade 8, U16, and U18 - compete at the Tanoa Bowl in Auburn, WA in December.
Several weeks ago, we were informed that Simi Strickland, who is the primary organizer for the Tanoa Bowl, suffered a health scare and had to be hospitalized. We are pleased to hear that Simi is on the road to recovery. However, due to his condition, the Tanoa Bowl will be unable to proceed this year.
We are currently working with several groups to look into potential tournaments for our teams. We are hoping to have some exciting news to share in the near future.
Unlike previous years, the timeframe for a potential tournament is likely to be in mid-to-late January as opposed to late December.
Our plan is to host a single-day final cut-down camp tentatively scheduled for Saturday, December 12. Location is TBD but it will be in the Lower Mainland.
To remind everyone, the following players are on the invite lists:
U16 Invite List
U18 Invite List
Grade 8 Invite List
Our Team BC coaching staff is looking forward to seeing you all again in December. In the meantime, good luck to each of you with your respective club teams. Our coaches are constantly keeping track of your performances so play hard!
