Football BC's content crew made two stops this past Saturday dropping by on a pair of semicentennial celebrations first at Carson Graham Secondary followed by Swangard Stadium where the Eagles and Clan, respectively, were each paying tribute to their 50th year of football.
The celebrations coincided with both respective teams’ Homecoming Game.
Under extremely wet conditions, it appeared for the longest time that neither the Carson Graham Eagles nor the West Vancouver Highlanders would get on the scoreboard. But after a botched snap by the Highlanders sailed into their own end zone giving the Eagles a 2-0 lead, that was all they needed as they would add six more late in the game to make the final score 8-0.

Under less than ideal weather conditions at Swangard Stadium, the Clan fell behind early against the two-time defending GNAC champions Azusa Pacific Cougars going down 10-0 after the opening quarter but valiantly battled back to tie the game 10-10 at half-time. However, the Cougars would find the end zone again early in the fourth quarter to go up 16-10 and the Clan would not be able to respond falling by that same score.
