RICHMOND, B.C. – Football BC’s fifth annual Team BC May Long Weekend camp will open on Saturday, May 16, 2015 in Richmond, British Columbia and run through to May 18, 2015.
All on-field events will take place at Minoru Park while all off-field events will be hosted by the Sheraton Vancouver Airport Hotel.

The Team BC May Long Weekend camp serves as part of the process to select the players that will be representing British Columbia as part of either the provincial under-16 team (U16 Team BC) or the provincial under-18 team (U18 Team BC). Tournament details for both respective teams are to be determined.
The Team BC May Long Weekend Camp is a by-invitation only camp and welcomes the top players from across the province. Approximately 200 players in total will be attending this year’s camp.
The camp has drawn attention from university recruiters from across the nation and this year’s three-day camp will welcome a number of visiting schools including representatives from the University of British Columbia, Simon Fraser University, the University of Calgary, the University of Manitoba, the University of Saskatchewan, the University of Guelph, Carleton University, Queen’s University, the University of Western Ontario, and the University of Waterloo.
In partnership with the BC Lions, six (6) bursaries in the amount of $1,000 each will also be presented during the Camp to players who demonstrate on- and off-field excellence as well as leadership qualities.

The list of players and camp schedule are subject to change.
The U18 coaching staff is led by head coach Jay Prepchuk, a former record-setting quarterback at Simon Fraser University and the current head coach of BC High School Football’s Handsworth Royals. The U16 coaching staff is guided by Pete McCall, a former CJFL Coach of the Year with the BCFC’s Okanagan Sun and currently the head coach of BC High School Football’s Rutland Voodoos.
Also on the respective coaching staffs are current CFL players JR Larose (BC Lions) and Paris Jackson (Edmonton Eskimos).
Members of the media are invited to attend all on-field sessions including practices and the end-of-camp scrimmage.
