BURNABY, B.C. – Football BC announced today the list of 56 players who have advanced to the final cut-down stage of tryouts for the provincial under-18 tackle team (“U-18 Team BC”) that will represent British Columbia at the FBU International Games as part of the U.S. Army All-American Bowl Week to be held in San Antonio, Texas in early January 2014.

The selected players will be invited to a final mini-camp to take place in December. The final team roster of 36 players will be named at the conclusion of the mini-camp.
The 56 players advancing to the final stage of the tryout process were primarily selected from a roster of over 120 players that attended the Team BC tryout camp held in Richmond, B.C. over the Victoria Day Long Weekend.
The 56-player roster breaks down as follows: nine defensive backs, nine defensive linemen, nine offensive linemen, 10 linebackers, four quarterbacks, six running backs, eight receivers and one kicker/punter.
Of the 56 players named to the cut-down roster, 10 are returning members from last year’s U-18 Team BC that dominated the competition at the FBU International Games defeating Europe and the USA to finish the tournament with a perfect 2-0 record while out-scoring their opponents by a combined 79-32.
The returning players are: DL Kyle Sagmoen (Terry Fox Ravens), OL Michael Beck (Terry Fox Ravens), OL Christian Krause (Mt. Douglas Rams), OL Brock Mould (Ballenas Whalers), OL Zach Wilkinson (Mt. Douglas rams), QB Ashton MacKinnon (Mt. Douglas Rams), RB Maleek Irons (WJ Mouat Hawks), REC Marcus Davis (Mt. Douglas Rams), REC Brayden Lenius (Carson Graham Eagles) and REC Eldridge Sellers V (Terry Fox Ravens).
BC Secondary Schools Football Association’s Mt. Douglas Rams have the most representation on the cut-down roster with 11 players. The Terry Fox Ravens have the next highest representation with seven players. The cut-down roster also features four players from the BC Community Football Association with the Victoria Spartans, Chilliwack Giants, North Surrey Bears and Langley Mustangs all being represented.
Team BC is led by head coach and offensive line coach Tom Kudaba (Terry Fox Ravens).
Other members of the coaching staff are offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach Jay Prepchuk (Handsworth Royals), defensive coordinator and linebackers coach Dino Geremia (Football BC), running backs and special teams coach Mark Townsend (Mt. Douglas Rams), receivers coach Jerome Erdman (McGill Redmen), defensive backs coach Alexis Sanschagrin (Belmont Bulldogs) and defensive line coach Ray Moon (South Delta Sun Devils).
