Football BC’s provincial evaluation sessions in Prince George will still be held despite the cancellation of the Northern Combine.
However, all players who were to have the fee exempt previously will now have to pay the evaluation fee ($30 if you pre-register; $40 for walk-up). The price includes a complimentary t-shirt. Credit card payments can be made if you pre-register online, but cannot be accepted on site.
The session will be held on Saturday, March 2 at The Charles Jago Northern Sports Centre (UNBC) from 12:30 pm to 4 pm for all categories.
Football BC has also added an additional provincial evaluation session on Wednesday, March 6 at Tom Binnie Park in Surrey (adjacent to the BC Lions Training Facility). This session will run from 3:30 pm to 5:30 pm.
Pre-registration is mandatory for the March 6 session. No walk-up registration will be permitted.
To register for either Prince George (March 2) or Surrey (March 6), please go to: http://www.playfootball.bc.ca/prereg_provincialevals.
*Players should bring their own mouth guards and dress in appropriate workout attire. Please have footwear appropriate for both indoor and outdoor workouts as, if weather if permitting, evaluations may take place outside. Helmets and shoulder pads are not required.*
All evaluations will include testing (40-yard, 10-yard, standing broad jump, T-test) as well as a skills portion (individual, 1 on 1s, skelly).
There are three age categories for evaluations: Prep to be the Best (ages 13-15), Team BC (born in 1996 or 1997) and Senior Bowl (for players currently in grade 12 who will be graduating in June 2013).
For Team BC and Senior Bowl, the evaluations also serve as part of the tryout process to attend the Team BC identification camp and the Senior Bowl camp, respectively.
